Good Eats Near Mesa, AZ
The other night while visiting relatives near Mesa, we stumbled on Rosati’s, a Chicago style pizzeria, and decided to have dinner there. They have a full bar and an area with seating for dinner. We tried their pizza and wings and they were great! We had their garlic parmesan wings which were amazingly crispy and their Rosati's Monster pizza that was loaded with meats and veggies!
We met the new owner who happened to be there that night and spent a lot of time talking with him about his experiences. He seems like an amazing boss to work for! It was great to support a small business like that. There's a bunch of Rosati's around town but we definitely recommend checking this one out!

Another great location to eat near Mesa, is San Tan Flat in Queen Creek which is also amazing! It is a huge place that is absolutely packed on Saturday nights. They have several buildings hosting bars, and two places to order food - the Rib Shack and the main restaurant. The lines to order food were super long but the food was amazing. We went to the Rib Shack for their ribs and pulled pork sandwiches. The ribs just pulled apart and had a wonderful flavor! For what we got, the prices were fair. They have at least two large outdoor seating areas with picnic tables and as the night began to set in and the temperature fell, they lit fires all around the place to keep us warm. This evening, they had a live band and dancing in the center area. I wish we had more places like this near where we hang out! They had to be doing an amazing business. Patriotic signs were everywhere, and we were loving it! Everyone seemed to be having a great time! I understand that on non-weekend nights it’s not nearly so crowded. We enjoyed it so much that we went back again! You definitely have to check out this amazing venue if you are in the Mesa area!

Another great spot is Queen Creek Olive Mill near Mesa, Az. They grow olives and press them for olive oil. They offer tours of their grounds and the processing. They also have a very nice restaurant featuring pizzas, sandwiches, various bruschettas and drinks. Kim and I tried three of their bruschettas including the Classic, Melabella and Blu Milano that were amazing and two of their sandwiches including the Kalamata and the Caprese del Piero both of which were awesome! They have both inside and outside seating with a wonderful Mediterranean feel! Inside the restaurant they also sell a variety of products like Aiolis, olive oils, Balsamic Vinegars, etc. It was a wonderful afternoon in the warm Winter weather under the olive trees. Check it out if you are passing through!
