eBike Test Drive!
We've been considering buying some eBikes having seen so many people riding them lately and the fact we are planning a trip to Utah's Big 5! We figure trying to hike everywhere isn't going to work for us but maybe we can bike back to some of the cool sites.
My wife had test driven a couple of bikes at the Grand Design Texas Fall Rally last October and I had test driven a bike while we were camping in Grapevine TX. While walking around the campsite we met a family who had two Aventon bikes and I was asking how he liked them and he offered to let me ride his. I was very impressed but not set on the exact bike yet.
On our most recent trip, we visited the Phoenix area and Lectric bikes have a facility where you can test ride a whole bunch of their models. We headed over there one afternoon for some research and had a great time testing their bikes. I really liked the XPress 750 they had.
They let you ride the bikes around the building and down the road to a local park. On our first ride, while I was all engrossed in figuring out the electric controls and trying to match them to the physical gears, I heard my wife calling for me so I stopped to let her catch up. She pedaled up panting and said she couldn't figure out how to turn the system on! Here I was cruising along with battery assist and my poor wife was pedaling for all she was worth trying to keep up! After that small faux pas we had a great time! If you find yourself in the Phoenix area give them a visit!
