Cheese Curds

Having heard so much about Wisconsin and their cheese, I really expected cheese curds to be a much bigger deal. Those of us living well away from Wisconsin always hear about the cheese curds and how wonderful they are. So, when I got to Wisconsin, I expected a vendor on every corner and cheese heads everywhere! I didn’t see a single cheese head the entire time we were in Wisconsin and only one sign for cheese at all. A bit of a letdown really. It wasn't until we went to the Apple Festival in La Crescent, Minnesota, that we finally ran into someone selling fried cheese curds and I have to admit that they were pretty tasty … for short and stubby cheese sticks! (Yes, I said it!)
